How to Enroll in a Course – New Users

Returning users, please see next section.
  1. Fill out the New Account form.
  2. An email will be immediately sent to your email address. The email will be from "SLRM Records Management Training" (rm_trng@tsl.texas.gov).
  3. Read your email, and click on the web link it contains.
  4. Your account will be confirmed and you will be logged in.
  5. Now, go to the All Courses list (this includes archived webinars).
  6. Click on the title of the course you want to participate in.
  7. On that course's page, under Course administration, click "Enroll me in this course."
  8. You can now access the full course: recorded webinar, handouts, quiz, and certificate.

How to Enroll In a Course – Returning Users

  1. Log in to your account. (Forgot your username/password?)
  2. Now, go to the All Courses list (this includes archived webinars).
  3. Click on the title of the course you want to participate in.
  4. On that course's page, under Course administration, click "Enroll me in this course."
  5. You can now access the full course: recorded webinar, handouts, quiz, and certificate.

How to Take a Quiz after a Webinar

Most, but not all, of our archived webinar online courses are accompanied by quizzes. The quiz exists to test your knowledge of the course content. Scoring a 70% or better enables enrolled students to receive a certificate of completion for the course.

  1. Go to the Archived Webinars list.
  2. Click on the title of the webinar you watched.
  3. Click the "Enroll me in this course" link (left side of page, under Course administration).
  4. Under Section 1, Take the Quiz, click the link that begins "QUIZ:".
  5. Score a 70% or better on the 5-question quiz.
  6. Save or print your certificate.

How to View a Webinar without Creating an Account

All webinar courses are open to guests.
  1. Go to the Archived Webinars list.
  2. Click on the title of the webinar you would like to view.
  3. You will be redirected to the login screen. Click the "Login as a guest" button. All webinar courses allow guest access.
  4. Click "Download the Archived Webinar." You will be prompted to download the Windows Media Video (.wmv) file onto your own computer.
  5. Note: If you log in as a guest, you will not be able to take the quiz for a certificate of completion. You must create and account and enroll in the course to take the quiz. You will not need to re-watch the webinar after you enroll.

FAQs

The system is telling me "You need to enrol in this course before you can attempt this quiz."
You do need to enroll in the course if you would like to take the quiz. Enrolling is not the same as logging in. See How to Enroll in a Course - New Users; or How to Enroll in a Course - Returning Users And we know it's a weird spelling of "enroll." The message is system-generated and we can't change it.

Where can I see a list of all your archived webinars?
Go to the Archived Webinars list.

Where's the quiz?
There is a quiz for most, but not all, archived webinars. If there is a quiz for the course, it will appear in the section of the course titled Take the Quiz. See the How to Take a Quiz section above for more information.

Where can I access an archived recording of the webinar?
Go to the Archived Webinars list and click on the title of the webinar that you would like to view.

I forgot my username/password.
Click "Lost password?" The system will immediately email you a temporary password and a link to reset your password.

I tried to reset my password, but never got the email.
Check your junk or spam folder.

I took the quiz that popped up at the end of the webinar, but I didn't get my certificate.
The questionnaire that pops up at the end of a live webinar is a customer service survey that provides us with feedback on your webinar experience. The quiz is to test your comprehension of the webinar content. The quiz is available through our online training site – see the How to Take a Quiz section above.

Do I have to create an account to be able to view the webinar?
No. Logging in as a guest will give you access to the archived recording of the webinar.

Do I have to enroll in the course to be able to view the webinar?

Do I have to create an account to be able to receive a certificate of completion?
Yes. You must create an account, log in, and then enroll in each course you’d like to take. You will have to score 70% or better on a short quiz to be able to save or print your certificate.

What format is the recording in? Do I need special software to view it?
The recording is a .wmv (Windows Media Video) file. You should be able to open it using Windows Media Player. If you can’t open the file on your computer, please email us. We can help you troubleshoot. We may have to ask you to seek help with your own IT staff.

Can I get a copy of the speaker notes for the presentation?
If this is a webinar presented by TSLAC staff, then speaker notes are typically available. Email slrminfo@tsl.texas.gov to request a copy. We will either send you a PowerPoint document or an annotated Adobe PDF document. Speaker notes for external speakers are typically not available.

I didn’t register for the webinar; I watched it in my colleague's office. Can I still take the quiz?
Yes, but you will have to create an account, log in, and enroll in the course. Please see How to Enroll in a Course - New Users.
