Enrollment Guidance


How to Enroll in a Course – New Users 

  1. Fill out the New Account form.
  2. An email will be immediately sent to your email address. The email will be from "SLRM Records Management Training" (rm_trng@tsl.texas.gov).
  3. Read your email, and click on the web link it contains.
  4. Your account will be confirmed and you will be logged in.
  5. Now, go to the All Courses list (this includes archived webinars).
  6. Click on the title of the course you want to participate in.
  7. On that course's page, under Course administration, click "Enroll me in this course."
  8. You can now access the full course: recorded webinar, handouts, quiz, and certificate.

How to Enroll In a Course – Returning Users

  1. Log in to your account. (Forgot your username/password?)
  2. Now, go to the All Courses list (this includes archived webinars).
  3. Click on the title of the course you want to participate in.
  4. On that course's page, under Course administration, click "Enroll me in this course."
  5. You can now access the full course: recorded webinar, handouts, quiz, and certificate.


What kind of free training is available on this website?


Do I have to create an account to be able to view training content?

No. You may log in as a guest to view courses or webinars, but you will not be able to save any sessions or receive a certificate of completion.


Do I have to create an account to be able to receive a certificate of completion?

Yes. You must be logged in and enrolled in each course for which you’d like to receive a certificate. You must score 70% or better on a quiz to be able to save or print your certificate.


What if I forgot my username/password?

From the login page, click on "Forgotten your username or password?" under the login box. You will need to enter either the username or email address that you originally sign up with, which will then email you a password reset request. If you do not remember your username, you may need to set up a new account.

What if I don't get an email to reset my password?
First, check your junk or spam folder. If you still cannot log in after resetting your password, email rm_training@tsl.texas.gov or call 512-463-7610.


Where's the quiz?

Many of our pre-recorded webinars include a quiz . If there is a quiz for the course, it will appear in the section of the course titled Take the Quiz.


The system is telling me "You need to enroll in this course before you can attempt this quiz."

You must enroll in the course if you would like to take the quiz. Enrolling is not the same as logging in.

I took the quiz that popped up at the end of the webinar, but I didn't get my certificate.

The questionnaire that pops up at the end of a live webinar is a customer service survey that provides us with feedback on your webinar experience. The quiz is to test your comprehension of the webinar content.


I didn’t register for the webinar; I watched it in my colleague's office. Can I still take the quiz to get a certificate of completion?

Yes, but you will have to create an account, log in, and enroll in the course.


What format is the recording in? Do I need special software to view it?

The recording is a .wmv (Windows Media Video) file. You should be able to open it using Windows Media Player. If you can’t open the file on your computer, please email rm_training@tsl.texas.gov. We can help you troubleshoot, but you may need to seek help with your own IT staff.


Can I get a copy of the speaker notes for the presentation?

Email rm_training@tsl.texas.gov to request a copy. We can send the presentation notes in a PowerPoint file or PDF document. Speaker notes for external speakers are typically not available. 

How to Take a Quiz after a Webinar

Many of our archived webinar online courses are accompanied by quizzes. The quiz exists to test your knowledge of the course content. Scoring a 70% or better enables enrolled students to receive a certificate of completion for the course.

  1. Go to the Archived Webinars list.
  2. Click on the title of the webinar you watched.
  3. Click the "Enroll me in this course" link (left side of page, under Course administration).
  4. Under Section 1, Take the Quiz, click the link that begins "QUIZ:".
  5. Score a 70% or better on the 5-question quiz.
  6. Save or print your certificate.

How to View a Webinar without Creating an Account

All webinar courses are open to guests.

  1. Go to the Archived Webinars list.
  2. Click on the title of the webinar you would like to view.
  3. You will be redirected to the login screen. Click the "Login as a guest" button. All webinar courses allow guest access.
  4. Click "Download the Archived Webinar." You will be prompted to download the Windows Media Video (.wmv) file onto your own computer.

    Note: If you log in as a guest, you will not be able to take the quiz for a certificate of completion. You must create and account and enroll in the course to take the quiz. You will not need to re-watch the webinar after you enroll.
